  • A LIL' ABOUT ME:

    Hi! I'm Amanda Felise, founder of FORFELISE, and currently the lone bird running the show:')
    I'm Singaporean born and raised and am currently based home 🇸🇬.

    It still baffles some people when I tell them I only picked up crocheting 2 years ago in May 2020, when Covid first hit. I had just quit my job in the most untimely fashion, and found myself mindlessly glued to Youtube for days on end, looking for something to tide through lockdown. It started with candle making, then paper making, then embroidery, and then finally I stumbled upon crocheting.


    It’s funny how looking back, crocheting came so naturally to me like a fish in water, a coming together of all my idiosyncrasies and interests. I’ve never been good at art, but I’ve always been crafty, always using my hands to create, build, explore and learn. Picking up crocheting was a godsend - as a hobby it helped so much with my mental health, and as a creative outlet it gave me purpose and fulfilment. I was able to create silhouettes that I felt confident and comfortable in, and I now had a canvas to tell my stories visually and physically.

  • This led me to start FORFELISE just 2 months into learning how to crochet, after getting multiple requests from friends and acquaintances for my crochet scrunchies and other accessories. Things picked up for a few months and I dared myself to dream a little harder, the ideas and designs in my head excited me deeply and I knew I needed to fully utilise this canvas I had to create something that would embody who I am and encapsulate the person I aspire to be.

  • It’s been 2 whole years of crocheting daily, working and wishing to finally get everything in its place, and I'm brimming with gratitude and anticipation now that we've finally made it here, launching our debut collection and website :’)

    Never would I have ever thought I’d be starting my own crochet apparel line, yet when I really think about it I can’t imagine doing anything else - all roads have led me here to create and share FORFELISE with you <3

    THE MINIMALIST BOHEMIAN
    A modern day free-spirit, in touch with nature and unabashed to chase her dreams. She lives in light, breathable natural fibres, and gravitates to warm neutral tones that keep her grounded to mother earth.

    She believes in treating the earth kindly, and does so by consciously minimising waste, incorporating sustainable approaches to her daily practice.


    WHO IS FELISE TO ME?
    My alter ego, my aspirational self, my reflection - Felise is my inner bohème, the part of me that doesn’t care to fit in or conform. She’s the wide-eyed spontaneous girl who spent half a year solo backpacking from Europe to Singapore overland; the wildflower who dreams of traveling the world in her van.

OUR PROCESS & INTENTION

  • SLOWMADE FOR A MINDFUL LIFESTYLE.

    Handcrafting timeless crochet silhouettes for the twenty-first century bohemian, with a focus on natural fibres and sustainable practices.

    SLOWMADE
    All our pieces are currently hand-crocheted by me (I am looking for a small female team in Bali to expand our crocheting capacity!!).
    Everything is also made-to-order, meaning that we crochet each piece only after an order has been placed. This keeps wastage minimal as we don't have excess or unsold stock, and allows for each piece to be made with intention and care.

    MINDFULNESS

    We love natural fibres; every piece is made with 100% cotton yarn and our bags are lined with linen cloth.
    We also keep our packaging as eco-friendly as possible - handmade paper tags, water-activated tape and no plastic.

    While we are still far from being fully sustainable, we're doing our best to stay mindful of the footprint we leave and the choices we make. We can all practice small steps to be gentler and kinder to mother earth.
